Choose where Hermes runs

Hermes Cloud is a managed Nous Research service. A Remote gateway connects to Hermes on a computer or server you control. Our private personal remote path uses Tailscale on both devices and a canonical HTTPS address inside your tailnet.

Desktop Local setup uses an existing Hermes installation on the same computer. See the connection guide for the current download and setup steps.

Choose how models fit

Your Hermes configuration supplies model providers and compatible endpoints. Use a hosted provider or a private endpoint that fits the task.

Keep your setup under your control

Hermes owns agent execution, tools and session history. Kantharos provides the roster, chat interface and app preferences. With a private model and a self-hosted gateway, you choose where those parts run.

Understand the data path

A hosted model provider receives the content sent to it. Your provider’s policies apply to that processing. See our privacy page for the app’s data handling.

Kantharos is an independent client for Hermes. Runtime setup and features are documented in the Hermes documentation.
